After data verification, data anonymization and metadata compiling, the data collected in Taiwan are publicly released via the Survey Research Data Archive (SRDA). The data collected from the first-wave survey to the 2018 survey have been released by the SRDA. The variables in the datasets are named according to the numbering of the corresponding questions in the questionnaires.

To get access to the PSFD data released by the SRDA, one has to acquire membership of the SRDA. Interested readers can visit the SRDA website for more information. SRDA members can download the PSFD datasets from the SRDA website. By clicking the “download/order” bottom on the SRDA webpage, one can easily add the datasets of interest to a list, and download them from “My SRDA.” In addition to the survey data, the accompanying files released with the data contain the user guide, the questionnaire, the codebook, and other relevant metadata. The data files are in Stata, SPSS and SAS formats. Among them, the data in SAS format include a DAT file and a data-reading program.

For the PSFD questionnaires and the other metadata, interested readers can browse and download the files from the SRDA website with no need to log in with membership first. The questionnaires of the PSFD surveys are also available from the official website of the PSFD project.

Regarding the PSFD data collected in China, the data collected from the 2004 to 2013 surveys have been released. For the China data collected in 2004 and 2006, SRDA members can download the datasets from the SRDA website after logging in with their membership account. As to the data collected after 2006, owing to the regulation set by the Bureau of Statistics of China, an application is needed before getting access to the data. Any researcher who is interested in using the data can submit a brief application (containing the data needed and the research purpose) to the PSFD team via email.
